Whether you wear makeup or not, it’s important to maintain your skin care routine just like your dental care. While there are many regimens, tools, and products you can use, we’ll talk about the core steps you should include in your routine.

Morning AM Routine:

  1. Gentle Cleanser

  2. Moisturizer

  3. Sun Screen

The Morning Routine is when you want to protect your skin. The best way to do that, is with sunscreen. If there’s one thing you take away from this is to always protect your skin from UVA/UVB rays, they cause early signs of aging and possible cancer.

Night PM Routine:

  1. Oil Based Cleanser

  2. Gel/Water Based Cleanser

  3. Chemical Exfoliant (1-2 times per week)

  4. Serum (1-5 times per week)

  5. Moisturizer

The Night Routine is when you’re really letting the products settle in your skin and do the work while you sleep peacefully. The oil cleanser takes off any makeup, sunscreen, and oily residue from the day, while the gel/water based cleanser take off any access left. Now that you have a clean base, the chemical exfoliant will remove any impurities (blackheads, whiteheads, etc.) below the surface of your skin. This should only be used 1-2 times per week as we dont want to strip the natural oils of your skin. Next is serum, depending on your concerns and skin type, this will vary from person to person. Finally, you want to lock it all in with a moisturizer.

When buying products, make sure to check the ingredients list before purchasing and buy for YOUR skin type. Some products may work incredible on oily skin, but terribly on dry. Make sure when using your products together, it won’t cause any conflict between the ingredients.

There’s steps you can into your skin care routine such as gua sha and toners. This time can be used to de-stress and put your mind in a calm state. Take care and happy skin care-ing!
